Ban these evil games, violent video games corrupt the youth of our nation, video games are my husband. It seems everyday that the media are more and more claims about the evils of videogames. But these claims based on facts, or is it simply that there is a juicy new scapegoat, the suffering of the world can be pinned on?
Many people are Manhunt, “the Daily Mail,” “History of now aware. The paper ran a front page with the headline” Ban these evil games “, and said that 17 years old obsession Warren LeBlanc with the ultra-violent Rockstar game “Manhunt” has led to 14 years old friend, Stefan Pakeerah, over 50 times beat well with a hammer and a knife. The tabloid went on to assert “the hammer and knife killing mirrored scenes in the game ultra-violent”. The newspaper also carried a quote from the mother of the victim and said that despite the fact that the game had an 18 certificate, “it is not very well say, this game is marketed to adults. Everyone knows that young children get their hands on it.
But what was the real motive behind the murder, and tracking history? It is easy to see where the motive was for the history of the Daily Mail. Under the terms of the board of the IGDA (International Games Developers Association): “It was a slow news day. And what better way to resuscitate him, but blood, violence and a convenient scapegoat?
There are two other important facts about these horrible murders memory. First, say what the police? After the headline in the Daily Mail, you may think they have come to the conclusion that this is the game that set Warren by his murderous ways. But the conclusion that the police arrived, the ground is all that was stolen. It turns out that Warren Leblanc had, in fact, carried a debt of £ 75 drugs to a local gang when he drew his old friend in the park that night, and initially only the fly. The police report makes no mention of ‘Manhunt’ whatsoever. This may be because the playroom Stefan was discovered as the murderer. These two facts were necessary to the first page of the day this story ran is missing.
And we must ask how it was that Mrs. Pakeerah missed because of his own 14-year-old son in possession of these ultra-violent game that he would be able to acquire, if an adult had purchased it.
But the game is good?, I hear you cry. Quite simply, no. “Manhunt” is one of those games that are the main stumbling blocks in the way of real games for adults. Computer games are now at the point where mature themes, meaning detailed, with stories that can cope with events in the real world and make them realistic reactions are always possible. Yet some developers insist on pouring the games that are aimed only at testosterone driven adolescent fantasies fueling of teenage sadists. When you consider tack like ‘Manhunt’ in the light of games like “Half-Life 2″ with its compelling narrative interwoven through beautiful, the scenery breathtaking, you realize how bad taste “Manhunt” is.
The consensus at the IGDA meeting this year is that the game was just a game open with a litter layer of crunchy ultra-violence. “Without doubt, the loss of a child so young, Stefan Pakeerah was a tragedy in their own right, but the real tragedy here is twofold. Was almost overnight the game, its turnover was just a trickle began to take off the shelves of some stores that are not prohibited, the concept of censorship lending the game a sense a seal of approval. Worse, in the words of Rob Fahey of the IGDA, how that the game industry “close” to defend it [Manhunt] when you see a difference compared to most games - She defended Stephen Spielberg movies hardcore porn?;
There are many well-documented history of the media to blame video games for the fate of the world. They accuse the Twin Towers terrorist attack against Microsoft, where pilots trained with their software simulator. They blame Doom for records of Columbine High School, because the game where you weapons openly on display, the boys were in secret to plan their deadly attack. It is often said to develop a direct relationship between the incident of U.S. snipers and video games, because the purpose of the sniper shooting skills playing video games, and all with a rifle, he received extensive training of ‘army U. S. to do. The simple truth is that more games that make ordinary people into murderers.
According to the tabloids we should currently be inundated by hordes of drooling, players obsessed with violence. However, since this scourge is not yet perhaps we should develop what they say with a pinch of salt. If a player off of him (or her) self from the computer screen and can not find a gun at their feet, suspension of disbelief is broken. It takes planning and organizing training, as these acts. To say that violent games turn people into killers is the same as saying that people are exposed to Islamic terrorists. There are no more violent than in most games there are horror films or books. In fact, says the U. S. Court of Appeal “(the idea that) there is a strong likelihood that minors playing violent video games have a deleterious effect on their mental health to suffer simply not supported in record time.” By d other words, video games are not the cause of violence.
What really matters for parents and the worldview they transmit to their children. If parents do not have time to talk to their children tell them right from wrong, know that the child what he or she should I do? How many parents tell their child that the game is not real in real life can be anything you in the game? While violence sells does not educate them, and unfortunately today in “Education by Playstation ‘is becoming more widespread as time constraints of parents to make the best of them.
All games have a rating system called ESBN rather strict. This system has been developed to prevent the games into the hands of minors, and yet often when a child is refused a game, in the direction of the parent, even after the evaluation system was explained to them, buys the game anyway. Parents should be informed about what they buy rather than buy, ask what the game for children, perhaps they should consider what they want their children. Would we see a child of 12-14 or even younger, or hardcore-porn-18 rated movie? Then maybe you should not allow them to play a game rated 18. Parents Time The stereotype that games are for children only severely outdated, and perhaps began to take more responsibility for what their children play on too.
In each group there are many who do not fit in the social norm. Is it true that these people can be influenced by violent video games? Without doubt. But this is the cause of their misery? Books, films, and rough play, all blend reality and fiction. What people have to accept that they must take responsibility for their own actions, and that perhaps the evils of corporations have their roots in problems larger than a small animated character shooting of another small animated character.
